Abstract

In this study, the researchers have tried to compare the economic status of the university faculties with their peers in the other governmental and non-governmental organizations. This research is a cross-sectional one based on a random sample of 99 faculties and their peers.
The base of comparison consists of eight main family expenditures in 1993-94. They are: the cost of education for children; medical expenses; food; clothing; cultural expenses; traveling; entertainment; monthly installments.
The data have been collected via a questionnaire designed by the researchers. Then the statistical analyses, such as descriptive methods, multiple and logistic regressions, were applied on them.
After accounting for the particulars of the faculty members' family, the effective factors have been isolated.
