The author claims to clarify the situation of the Iranian prisoners about, what he calls, 'social participation'.In fact this article constitutes a chapter from a larger survey entitled: "Social Pathology, Delinquency and Its Relation to Social Participation" .
In this survey, the author has tried to answer some questions, concerning these prisoners, such as the particularities of the prisoners,
from the personal, familial, professional, social and environmental point of view. He has also tried to answer:
- What is the degree of their social alienation?
After this research, the writer found out that the majority of these
prisoners were young, celibate, low educated, having nongovernmental professions, etc. It was also found out that with the length of condemnation, the social isolation grew.
